Biography:
Mr. Kaiser is an associate in the firm’s Lexington office. Since joining Ward, Hocker & Thornton in 2008, Mr. Kaiser has successfully defended individuals and businesses in numerous civil cases through trial. He has also represented clients in bankruptcy, real estate, and corporate matters. A typical day might involve drafting and negotiating a licensing agreement on behalf of an independent musician, handling a case on appeal dealing with the interpretation of an insurance contract, or representing insurers on subrogated claims related to fire loss or employee embezzlement. He enjoys being attentive to his clients’ needs and he strives to achieve the results they desire whether through litigation or alternative dispute resolution.
While in law school, Mr. Kaiser was the Chief Executive Editor of the San Diego International Law Journal, he served as judicial extern to Judge Roger Benitez and Judge William McCurine, Jr. in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California, he studied international law in Florence, Italy, and he clerked at a commercial litigation firm in Paris, France.
Before law school, Mr. Kaiser worked as a teacher and as a sales professional in the student loan industry. Immediately after college, Mr. Kaiser spent a year teaching English to Barcelona factory workers, executives, and employees of an internet start-up company.
Mr. Kaiser is a past recipient of the Wiley W. Manuel Pro Bono Service Award for providing legal services to the poor at the Legal Aid Society of San Diego’s Homeless Prevention Clinic. He continues to volunteer his time with the Credit Abuse Resistance Education Program (CARE), in which he frequently lectures Lexington-area high school students about using credit responsibly. He is also a volunteer hearing officer with the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government Parking Citation Enforcement Hearing Board.
In his free time, Mr. Kaiser enjoys spending time outdoors in our state and national parks and traveling abroad. Mr. Kaiser lives in Lexington, KY with his wife and son.
