Born: Kittery, Maine, October 29, 1959

Biography:
The son of a career Air Force pilot, George Hocker grew up throughout the United States. His parents being from a small town in central Kentucky, Mr. Hocker returned to his “home” state for college where he attended the University of Kentucky. Mr. Hocker graduated in 1981 with a degree in accounting. Following college, Mr. Hocker attended law school and received his Juris Doctor from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 1985.

Upon graduating from law school, Mr. Hocker accepted a job with the Kentucky Court of Appeals where he served as a law clerk for Judge Anthony M. Wilhoit. While working for Judge Wilhoit, Mr. Hocker gained valuable experience, particularly in the area of legal writing. In November 1986, Mr. Hocker accepted an associate position with the law firm of Ward, Hocker & Thornton, PLLC and became a partner in the firm in December 1990. During his twenty year plus legal career, Mr. Hocker has litigated countless cases throughout the Commonwealth of Kentucky, in both state and federal court. Likewise, he has handled numerous appellate cases, having argued in the Kentucky Supreme Court, Kentucky Court of Appeals and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. In recognition of his extensive legal experience and high level of expertise, Mr. Hocker has earned an AV Martindale Hubbell rating.

Mr. Hocker and his wife, Kathy, have a son, Bo, who attends the University of Kentucky. Mr. Hocker is active in the Jessamine County community where he lives and he and his family attend Southland Christian Church. Mr. Hocker still enjoys playing basketball and he has for many years been involved in youth and high school sports, in both coaching and administrative capacities.
