Biography:
Steve Goodrum has been practicing law since 1987. He attended Western Kentucky University from 1979 to 1983, graduating magna cum laude in 1983 with a B.A. degree in political science and a minor in American history. He was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity while at WKU, serving as secretary and treasurer, and was also a member of the WKU Government Honor Society, and was active in intramural sports.
Mr. Goodrum attended the University of Kentucky College of Law from 1984 to 1987, after taking a year off to work in the family grocery store so as to finance law school and to get married. While in law school he worked as a law clerk from the beginning of his 2nd semester through the time he took the bar exam, for the firm where he currently serves as a partner, Ward, Hocker & Thornton, PLLC.
Mr. Goodrum has been with the firm as an attorney since shortly after passing the bar exam, as an associate until 1994, and thereafter as a partner. He has worked almost exclusively in insurance defense law, primarily concentrating on workers’ compensation defense since 1991, although he has tried a number of civil cases. He has presented seminars on Kentucky workers’ compensation law to numerous clients throughout America, including Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Tennessee, Kansas, Georgia, & Texas.
Mr. Goodrum is married and the father of 2 children, and is a ‘swim dad.’ He is active in the Woodford County community where he lives, including teaching youth Sunday School classes at Versailles Baptist Church and being involved in numerous youth and adult sporting organizations, where he has also coached.
